These are the village’s most commonly asked-about ordinances. This is a summary only. The full official ordinances are below.
Most common ordinances
Street parking (2–7 AM)
No parking on village streets from 2:00 AM to 7:00 AM. This keeps streets clear for safe snow removal.
No farm animals
Horses, ponies, goats, pigs, cows, turkeys, ducks and other farm livestock or fowl may not be kept in the village.

Burning is allowed, but it is unlawful to burn rubber, plastic, trash, garbage, Styrofoam or furniture.
Ordinance #204Junk & unregistered vehicles
Inoperable, junk, abandoned, unregistered, unlicensed or uninsured vehicles are not allowed on residential property and must be removed.
Ordinance #204.7Trash & debris
Accumulated garbage, trash, debris, junk or dead organic matter on a property is considered a nuisance and must be cleaned up.
Ordinance #204.2.3.9Blighted or vacant buildings
Homes, garages, fences and outbuildings must not be allowed to deteriorate, and junk, metal and building materials may not accumulate.
Ordinance #204.2Outdoor wood boilers
Outdoor wood-burning boilers (furnaces that heat water piped to a building) are prohibited.
