The Village Council recently mailed this reminder to all Village of Woodland residents. These are the most common ordinances, but they are not the only ones.

- Burning: Burning is allowed, but it is unlawful to burn rubber, plastic, trash, garbage, Styrofoam and furniture. (Ordinance #204)
- Junk vehicles: Inoperable or junk vehicles, and abandoned, unregistered, unlicensed or uninsured vehicles, are not allowed on residents’ property and must be removed. (Ordinance #204.7)
- Trash and debris: Any property with accumulated garbage, trash, debris, junk or dead organic matter is considered an attractive nuisance and unsightly. (Ordinance #204.2.3.9)
- Blighted or vacant structures: This includes any dwelling, garage, privacy fence or outbuilding that has deteriorated to the point it is no longer habitable or useful for its intended purpose, along with accumulated junk, metals and building materials. (Ordinance #204.2)
- Wood boilers prohibited: Outdoor wood boilers, metal furnaces that burn wood to heat water piped underground to a house or building, are not allowed. (Ordinance #205, Section 1)
